About Pudhuvai Museum
Welcome to the World’s Lead- ing Museum of Modern Art. It includes works of art created during the period stretching from about 1860 to the 1970s.
The "Pudhuvai Museum" has organized various events and programs continuously for honouring the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Especially, 15 exhibitions were conducted in the States of Tamilnadu and Puducherry UT in his 150th memorial year, for the benefits of thousands of Students and the General Public.
As a result of which, the “Pudhuvai Museum" is now equipped with hundreds of documents for a Gandhian Section. In line with the 6 Museums in India used exclusively for the study of Mahatma Gandhi, the "Pudhuvai Museum" will also have a separate special section for Mahatma, in the near future.

Nicolas de Fer is considered to be the First French to draw the map of the Puducherry town, among the French Cartographers. On the occasion of his 300th memorial anniversary observed by the " Pudhuvai Museum", the French President has sent his rich tributes. Also, Jean-Robert Pitte, the President of the Paris Geographical Society, (Société de Géographie) the Chief Geographical Society of the Paris, has also sent in his respects and homages to Nicolas de Fer. "Pudhuvai Museum" has a section on Maps to honour Mr.Pitte.
